3 Tools To Best Market Your Business

I have researched and found three very effective tools to help you market your business more effectively.

The first tool is the advice of successful entrepreneurs and public relations specialists. When telling people what you do or what your business is all about, say the name of your business and one sentence describing it.

Example: “Work It Mom, a place where working moms connect.”

The second tool is preparing your elevator pitch.

These are the 4 key questions to answer when pitching:

1. Who are you?

2. What do you do?

3. Why are you the best at what you do?

4. What’s your call to action?

Example: “My name is Laura Allen and I teach people to market themselves more effectively using the 15SecondPitch™. In 2002 I co-founded 15secondpitch.com, which provides free tools to help you create a great pitch and share it with thousands of other members. You can also register for pitch workshops and private coaching, and even order premium-quality business cards with your pitch on them. Visit 15secondpitch.com today and you’ll be on your way to a great personal introduction!”

Finally, the third tool will to help you speak about your business with ease and passion. Robyn Hatcher, founder of Speak Easy Presentations explains, “Many of us focus on the ‘wrong’ things when making presentations. We tend to put the focus on ourselves, How we look… do we sound smart enough… Are we impressing our audience. When actually, the focus needs to be on our audience. What do they need? How can I inform them? How can I help them? How can I make their lives/business/futures better?” So, the goal is to “shift your focus from what you want to get from people to what you want to give to people. Focusing on others naturally makes us less self-conscious and less nervous and in turn a more engaging and more effective presenter.”

Next time you present your business to one person or a hundred, think about what you are doing for the public and how great it is. Think about the need your business fills and all the wonderful services and/or products you offer.

With these three tools you can go ahead and present your business with sheer confidence. Go ahead and practice in front of the mirror, among friends and family, and during networking events. Give it a try and leave a comment letting me know if you found these tools helpful.
